Sacred Heart Academy is more than a school, it is a diverse parish community comprised of staff, students, families, alumni and friends with a shared commitment to Christ, community, and service. This commitment includes making the benefits of a dynamic, Christ-centered education affordable to a diverse population of students and their families – an opportunity made possible through the support of Sacred Heart Parish and the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. The generous hearts and vision of this greater school community provides the financial, emotional and spiritual support to meet the school’s annual operating costs and graduate students with the strength of mind, body and spirit to realize their potential and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
While the actual cost to educate each student is over $8,600, generous contributions from Sacred Heart Parish, the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation, and SHAgala tremendously offset this cost for families.
Your child(ren)’s education is the best investment you will make in their well-being and potential for success. The strong tradition of faith formation, values education and academic excellence found at SHA will inspire them for life.

You must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the in-parish tuition rate:
*If a family is registered at another local Catholic parish and meets the rest of the criteria outlined above, written confirmation from their priest will be accepted in lieu of Sacred Heart Parish registration. Talk to our Director of Admissions, Lisa Roach, at Lroach@sha.net to see if you qualify for this exception.
$100 per student, if completed by April 30. $100 late fee assessed, beginning May 1.

The voluntary tuition account was established to minimize across-the-board annual tuition increases, thus keeping the education at Sacred Heart Academy affordable for all. However, there is still a need to meet operating budget requirements. In addition to the above tuition rates, families are strongly encouraged to assist in funding the voluntary tuition account at a level that they are comfortable contributing. Contributions made to this account are completely voluntary and are tax-deductible. It is hoped that parents will recognize that the amount of tuition they are paying on a per-child basis is much less than the true cost of their child’s education and will make a worthwhile contribution to the voluntary tuition account. In doing so, we are showing our commitment to the mission of Jesus Christ and being generous stewards.

Every student/family benefits from reduced tuition because of direct financial support from Sacred Heart Parish, the SHAgala dinner/auction benefit and an annual gift from the SHA Foundation. The 2025 SHAgala proceeds bring over $1,000 of benefit to each student, and the SHA Foundation contribution offers just over $700 per student in benefit. The remainder is Sacred Heart Parish support.
Our current enrollment of 463 students falls within a range where costs remain relatively neutral. If enrollment slips below 400, there are consequences in offerings, services, and capital investment dollars. Above 475 students, we have more flexibility.
It seems logical, however, the central Michigan educational market, nor our families can bear this actual expense. In comparison to government funding provided to public schools, nearly $9,500 is awarded per student in our district. We do not receive these monies, and have to budget based on the generosity and support of our parish.
There is a confidential tuition assistance program, the RaiseRight (formerly SCRIP) tuition credit program, and an active voluntary tuition program available. No family with a desire to attend SHA should miss the opportunity due to financial constraints. Please contact our Admissions Office for confidential assistance.
