The Sacred Heart Academy Athletic Association is proud to announce the formation of the Irish Club! The club has been created as another way to bring fans together, engage them, and support our athletes financially, all at the same time. As most of you know, the Athletic Association has always been very proud of the fact that SHA has never required student-athletes to ‘pay-to-play’, which is rare in today’s world of rising athletic costs. As with so many aspects of our daily activities, costs such as uniforms, game officials, transportation, and numerous other expenses are constantly increasing, resulting in the need for the Athletic Association to develop a means of offsetting these expenses. We believe the Irish Club is a great solution that will provide a funding resource; consider it a sort of ‘rainy day’ fund for all of our athletic teams.
The Irish Club will have an annual membership fee of $200 to join for the current school year. The annual fee will include a “unique to Sacred Heart” athletics gift, as a token of our appreciation for your support. This year’s item is a red Adidas pullover that can be given to any member of your family as a visible sign of your support of all our athletic teams! If you elect to join, the fee covers your entire immediate family (parents and children of those parent
s in the same household,) and your family is eligible for any IC events that take place throughout the year.
In the inaugural year of 2024-25, membership fees will be utilized to build a base fund. The Irish Club will begin accepting requests from our head coaches in the late summer of 2025 for items that fall outside a typical budget. It is our hope that we are able to honor all requests as they arise, but it will depend on the size of the request, and the funds available. We hope you maintain annual membership for years to come, as a means to support our teams.

No! Anyone can join; parents of SHA students, grandparents, family, friends, or even strangers! This could be a gift to a relative, or anyone else you may think would be interested in supporting SHA athletics. Although we are thankful for the many businesses that continue to sponsor our teams, we are thrilled to offer this additional opportunity, as many have inquired on ways they can support our athletics on a budget. Please note, businesses may pay for a family membership, if so desired. ALL proceeds will directly benefit Sacred Heart Athletics.
The Irish Club will be part of the SHA Athletic Association and serve the long-range goal of sustaining our athletic programs, without requiring our student-athletes to contribute financially. We hope you’ll consider joining the Irish Club, now open for members!
